The agricultural cooperative, Il Raccolto, was founded with the fusion of two large Bolognese cooperatives, Onorato Malaguti of San Pietro in Casale and Luciano Romagnoli of Baricella.
The principal activity is obviously agriculture, carried out on 1,800 hectares of which 1,394 are owned by the cooperative.
The main products are grain, barley, corn, beetroot, sorgo, soya, sunflowers and medicinal herbs. Some of these are cultivated biologically, to guarantee environmental self-sufficiency
Respecting various European and Regional laws, Il Raccolto has made some of its land available for wet lands, small woods and forest
In a short time these incentives have seen not just a growth in local biodiversity but have led to the rebirth of the countryside and this area is now readily available to be used for recreation, training and tourism.
